RECTANGULAR ICEBERG - BY FERRAN ALVAREZ
RECTANGULAR ICEBERG
Nasa has shared an image of a nearly perfect rectangular iceberg about 1.6 kilometres across in Antarctica. The US space agency said that the iceberg's sharp angles and flat surface indicate that it had recently broken away from an ice shelf, probably the Larsen C ice shelf. While the iceberg looks unreal, it is an enirely natural phenomenon. Such objects even have a name - tabular icebergs.
