Amazon has raised its minimum wage for US British workers, putting pressure on rivals to do the same. The company, which has received intense criticism over pay, working conditions and tax affairs in recent years, has raised its US minimum wage to 15$ an hour; and to 9,5$ in the UK. The move will blunt some Amazon's critics, though many econommists say that increase was also necessary. With the US unemployment rate below 4%, there are more job offers than people looking for work.
